Elizabeth Wadsworth
Elizabeth Wadsworth Artist Profile

Elizabeth Wadsworth has always explored creative avenues throughout her career and after success in fashion and interior design, has pursued her talent in painting. In 1993 she graduated with a Diploma of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting from the highly acclaimed National Arts School in Sydney.

Influenced by her experience and interaction with the world – travel being a major source of impetus, Wadsworth focuses her own journeys onto the canvases. Telling her stories through manipulation of paint and collage – gradually layering paint and rubbing it back while wet, creates works that speak of a process. Her use of colour is evocative and is often the initial source of inspiration for a series of works, alternating from warm to cool colours each series.

The texture she creates generates intrigue and draws the viewer closer to the canvas to observe the textural detail of the manipulated paint across the work.

Wadsworth’s are hung in private collections around the World... LA, New York, Dallas, Zurich, Oslo, London, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, France, New Zealand and Australia.
